Whether its summer, winter or somewhere in between, Kentucky State Parks are the perfect place to have fun, unwind and build relationships. Choice would be the word to describe the recreational opportunities. With championship golf courses, marinas, multi-use trails, horseback riding, tennis courts and swimming pools, state parks are Kentucky’s playground. Our parks are also vast lakes, mountaintops, caves and wildlife viewing.

You may choose to sit back, relax and let the kids run free. Reconnect with family and friends while discovering and exploring our natural resources. To introduce you to the unique features and opportunities at each park, our talented recreation and interpretation staff provides educational and entertaining programs for all ages and interests.

Barren River Lake State Resort Park Lucas, KY

CALL: 270-646-2151 Surrounded by rolling, tree-covered hills, the lodge overlooks the beautiful 10,000-acre lake. The lodge has 51 rooms and offers full amenities.  Open year-round.  Rooms are available by late afternoon.  Lodge room check-out by 11:00am, local time. A limited number of lodge rooms and cottages will be available for pets.

Big Bone Lick State Historic Site Union, KY

Big Bone Lick State Historic Site has been named by the U.S. Secretary of the Interior as a National Natural Landmark. The park is significant for its combination of salt springs and late Pleistocene bone beds. The site is recognized as the birthplace of American vertebrate paleontology for its significant role in the development of scientific thought regarding extinction and the relationship of geology & paleontology. Blue Licks Battlefield State Resort Park Carlisle, KY

CALL: 859-289-5507 The lodge offers 32 rooms with full amenities, including two suites, one of which can be used as a hospitality center for meetings and family reunions. Open year-round. Rooms are available by late afternoon. Lodge room check-out by 11:00am, local time. A limited number of lodge rooms and cottages will be available for pets. The campground is open April 1 - October 31.

Boone Station State Historic Site Lexington, KY

CALL: 859-527-3131 Daniel Boone (1734-1820), known for his role in the exploring and settling of the Kentucky frontier decided that the settlement of Boonesborough had become far too crowded.

Breaks Interstate Park Breaks, KY

CALL: 276-865-4413 Breaks Interstate Park's accommodations range from woodland cottages to campsites, from lakefront log cabins to lodge rooms with breath-taking views.

Buckhorn Lake State Resort Park Buckhorn, KY

CALL: 606-398-7510 Surrounded by rolling, tree-covered hills, the lodge overlooks the beautiful 1,200-acre lake. The lodge has 36 rooms offering full amenities as well as two 2-bedroom cottages and three 3-bedroom cottages.

Butler-Turpin State Historic House Carrollton, KY

This fine home built in 1859 is a place of remembrance for one of Kentucky's foremost military families from colonial times, through the revolution , the War of 1812, the Mexican War and the Civil War. Built in the Greek Revival style, the house is a three-bay, masonry structure with a commanding view of the KY River Valley. The Butler House is part of General Butler State Resort Park. Carr Creek State Park Sassafras, KY

CALL: 606-642-4050 Carr Creek Lake was once home to some of the area's earliest pioneer settlements as early as the 1770s.

Carter Caves State Resort Park Olive Hill, KY

CALL: 606-286-4411 Each room features a private balcony or patio overlooking the surrounding woodlands. Rooms available by late afternoon. Lodge room check-out by 11:00am, local time. A limited number of lodge rooms will be available for pets. High speed wireless internet service available at the lodge.

Columbus-Belmont State Park Columbus, KY

CALL: 270-677-2327 Relax amid beautiful settings on the river cliff campground with 38 sites, utility hookups and grills. A central service offers rest rooms, showers, and laundry facilities. Pets are allowed if restrained. Campground open year round, water available, but not to each site in winter.
