Rook Tournament

Rook, the card game with the wild black bird, is back at Rough River once more! Play will begin at 6:00 PM (CT) on Friday night, starts again Saturday at 9:00 a.m. and will continue till the conclusion on Saturday night. Registration is $30 per team plus a new deck of ROOK cards. You can also receive two nights lodging for the price of one. Play against some of the best Rook players across the state of Kentucky, while making some lasting memories and new friends. The Future of Bowfishing Youth Tournament

The Third Annual "Future of Bowfishing Youth Tournament" will be held at Rough River Lake (State Boat Ramp). Our goal is to give children in the age group of 8-15 years old, the opportunity to compete in the healthy outdoor sport of Bowfishing. Certificates will be awarded in three different age divisions for biggest carp, biggest gar, and biggest other rock fish species. Trophies for largest overall fish and other awards will also be given. Refreshments will be provided. Registration will begin at 6:00 a.m. (CT) and last until 7:45 a.m. Registration fee is $5 per child and is subject to change. Children must have an adult with them and must attend a pre-shoot meeting at 7:45 a.m. to go over safety and tournament instructions, rules, and regulations. Mint Julep Model Airplane Scale Meet

Planes are split up into divisions that include Best Civilian, Best Military, Fun Scale Sportsman, Fun Scale Aerobatics, and more! Rough River Rumble Wakeboarding Tournament

Are you a water sports fanatic? If so, this is the event for you! NWL (National Wakeboard League) Kentucky Division, is hosting a benefit Tournament on June 7th at Rough River Lake. A potion of every entry fee will go to help the Breckinridge County High School Athletic Department. All ages and all divisions are welcome from beginner to expert. A cash payout and/or prizes are given for all divisions. The event is free for spectators so bring a lawn chair or blanket down to the State Park Beach and enjoy the rides!! Magnolia 5K

A 5K run/walk will be held at Rough River Dam. There is a $15 pre registration fee if you pay before July 12th, and a $20 fee the day of the race. T-shirts, prizes and awards will be given. The race will begin at 8:00am (CDT). This is race number four of the Ky State Park Race Series. You can register for all five races or just the race of your choice. The Official KY State Old Time Fiddler's Contest

Bring in the holiday season with us! View our Christmas tree lighting, lighting of over 50 different displays throughout the campground and park, and of course, SANTA CLAUSE! Local choirs will be present singing Christmas Carols, and hot chocolate and coffee will be provided to keep you warm. This event is free of charge although donations will be accepted for the lighting displays and a canned food box will also be on site for donations for those in need in the local area.

Ring in the New Year with us during our festive family atmosphere celebration of 2009! A band will be here so that you can dance your way out of 2008 and into 2009 with your favorite tunes! A big screen will be available to watch the ball drop at midnight and we will also have light snacks and other goodies! This is a family oriented event where NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES will be permitted. The package includes one nights lodging, a prime rib dinner buffet, a breakfast buffet on New Year's Day, and evening entertainment with live music, party favors, finger foods and more for only $138.00 plus tax PER COUPLE! If the kids come along there will be an additional charge of $14 per child (ages 6-16). If you are interested in the Dinner and Dance only (no overnight lodging) the charge will be $78 plus tax per couple and $10 per additional child. (Prices subject to change).
