General Butler is a peaceful resort park, conveniently located along I-71 between Louisville and Cincinnati. It features overnight and meeting accommodations with modern amenities to ensure a comfortable stay and productive event. Two Rivers Restaurant will cater your private function.  If your event includes time to play, our skilled recreation staff is available to plan team building and recreational activities.

ACCOMMODATIONS

53 Lodge Rooms: All guest rooms feature a private balcony or patio. 42 rooms each with 2 double beds; 8 rooms each with 1 king bed; 3 rooms each with 1 queen bed. Total of 3 ADA accessible rooms available. Amenities in our overnight accommodations include: Bluegrass Blend Coffee—gourmet coffee specially blended by John Conti for Kentucky State Parks, electronic key cards, television, hair dryer, iron, ironing board, coffee maker, linens and towels. Pets are not allowed (except service dogs).

24 Cottages: One, two, or three bedroom cottages with one or two bathrooms are available. Each cottage features a living and kitchen area, private balcony or patio, tableware, and cooking utensils. 11 one-bedroom cottages, 5 two-bedroom cottages, 3 three-bedroom cottages, 3 two bedroom executive cottages, 2 three bedroom executive cottages. All executive cottages have 2 bathrooms and offer larger gathering space. Pets are not allowed (except service dogs).

Over 9,300 total square feet of meeting space awaits you at General Butler. The Conference Center totals 7,500 square feet and divides into three sections: The Kentucky Room, The Bluegrass Room and the Commonwealth Room.

The Kentucky Room features an incredible fireplace and the Commonwealth Room  features a wall of windows and an adjacent outdoor terrace.

The Bluegrass Room  is the middle section which can open up into either of the other rooms for more space – or offers the perfect private lunch space for working lunches.

The Woodland Room  next to the Lodge is 725 sq. ft. and overlooks the woods. The two private dining rooms: The Burley and River Rooms  are perfect for groups of 25 and under.

It is all available at General Butler and conveniently located.

Two Rivers Restaurant (ph: 502.732.6400) is located on the first floor of the main lodge. Completely renovated in May 2005. The new “fish camp” theme uses artifacts and photographs depicting local history. This bistro-style restaurant proudly serves Kentucky cuisine of locally grown vegetables and meats. Floor to ceiling windows offer a panoramic view. Seating up to 180 guests, including 2 private dining rooms. Lunch buffet offered daily with brunch buffet on Sundays. Extensive catering options available to private groups. Hours: Breakfast 7:00am-10:30am Lunch 11:30am-2:30pm Dinner 5:00pm-8:00pm

About Our Chef

Eric R. Clippert graduated from the Cincinnati Culinary Arts Academy (in conjunction with the Culinary Institute of America). His cooking experience ranges from fine dining to bistro to country fare. Eric is the Executive Chef at Two Rivers.

Butler-Turpin State Historic House

Revel in the history of one of Kentucky’s foremost military families from colonial times through American Revolution, War of 1812, Mexican War and the Civil War. This antebellum home, built in 1859, features an 18th and 19th century collection and an archeological exhibit from the 1790 Butler cabin. Consider the Butler-Turpin House for outdoor receptions and evening tours. Small groups may be interested in afternoon lunch or teas. The house is available for small weddings.
