Hook a Kid on Golf!

Every Tuesday & Thursday Kids (13 years & under) play free with a paying adult, this only applies to green fees, and doesn't include cart fees. With the right motivation, stimulation, encouragement, and incentive General Butler's mission is to help in the effort to get Kids Hooked on Golf! This offer is available Tuesdays & Thursdays from April-October with a paying adult player.

Mountain Biking on the Fossil Trail
4/1/2008 to 11/30/2008

We invite you to experience our Fossil Trail at General Butler State Resort Park. Come gear down with us during these open times for Mountain Biking April - November. Riders under 16 years of age must have adult/guardian rider supervision at all times. Riders must wear helmets, and adhere to no ride dates as posted at Lodge Front Desk, Recreation Center and/or Bike Butler's website www.bikebutler.com. Caution is required since trail is open to hikers. Enjoy our challenging terrain and scenic beauty. One loop for the Fossil Trail is 4.5 miles and considered moderate skill level.

Do we have a deal for you! Pay the first night camping fees, and stay the second night on General Butler! General Butler's Campground will open its gates to a public campsite swap meet. Campers are welcomed to sell their wares during this weekend. Selling areas are limited to one's campsite for Saturday only from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. General Public is invited with special parking. Also weekend entertainment & activities will be planned for campers.

Boot Scootin' Boogie Bash

This April 26 benefit for the Carroll County Relay for Life features dancing with deejay Jason Shields spinning tunes and a silent auction. Admission to the event at the park is $5 per adult and $3 for children under 16 years of age. The event is from 7 to 11 p.m. View event flyer (pdf file).

CASH 4 CULTURE – A Musical Tribute and FUNd Raiser for the Arts

Cash 4 Culture celebrates a musical career than spans generations and genres. All proceeds from this event will go to the Carroll County Arts Commission. The goal of this non-profit organization is to make the arts an essential part of the lives of Carroll County citizens by fostering an appreciation for the arts through diverse artistic and educational activities.

Friday Night Flicks Outdoor Movies

Same great Outdoor Movies, but just on Friday nights! During the summer months of June & July kick back with General Butler State Resort Park an enjoy a movie, just like the good ole days of "drive-in's." All movies will be rated PG and focused around family viewing. Movies are shown on an inflatalbe screen and located at the Parks' Front Entrance near the 18 Hole Mini Golf Course and Stone Shelterhouse. All one needs to bring is a blanket or chair for viewing, and feel free to bring refreshments. Movies Dates: Friday, June 13th & 27th and Friday, July 11th & 25th.

Kids All American Fishing Derby

Get Hooked on Fishing! Fishing Derby begins @ 10:00 a.m. until Noon with a small cookout following. Derby is designed for youngsters up to 12 years of age with adult supervision. Special attractions include a "Kids Casting Contest," nationwide "Big Fish Contest," and "I Caught a Fish Contest."

Cruise into General Butler on Saturday July 5th to enjoy a day in the park! This event will feature custom & vintage cars, 50's & 60's music, along with food & merchandise booths. For information on entrying the show a Kentucky Kruizer Car Club member can be reached by calling the Recreation Department at General Butler State Park. Following the car show, General Butler will celebrate with outdoor musical entertainment & fireworks to celebrate our Nation's Freedom. There is a registation fee if entrying vehicles for judging, other than that events are free to the viewing public.

General Butler & Bike Butler Off Road Triathlon

"Tri" a 1/2 mile lake swim, 3 mile trail run and finally a 10 mile off road mountain biking course. There are a variety of age divisions for women & men, along with a team division. Pre-registration is encouraged, but day of race registration is available. Get a jump start and pre-ride & run the course on Saturday, but sorry to say pre-lake swim is not permitted. 18 Hole Night Owl Golf Scramble

Play 18 holes by moonlight! Registration per team is $100.00 includes green & cart fees, along with 1st & 2nd Place and contest hole prizes. Limited to the first lucky 13 teams to register with payment by Wednesday, October 1st. Alcohol will not be permitted. Team members must be 16 years or older, and only allowed on course during scramble. Team registration begins at 7:00 pm with Tee Time @ 7:30 pm.

Jump start your Halloween experience at General Butler State Resort Park! This weekend was added due to the popular sold-out Halloween Family Fun Weekend scheduled Friday, October 31 - Sunday, November 2nd. Events that will occur this weekend are as followed for both nights: Tales of the Butler Ghost at Butler-Turpin State Historic House (this weekend only), Haunted Halloween Train & Castle of Doom (both weekends), Campsite Raffles for decorated campsites, and Trick or Treating in Campground, Saturday (6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.). Make a campsite reservation if you would like to Jump Start Your Halloween Experience at General Butler State Resort Park. Festival of Trees & Winter Wonderfest Day
12/6/2008

Christmas Trees decorated by local schools, churches and businesses will be on display for the month of December. On Saturday, Santa has promised to join us for breakfast at Two Rivers Restaurant. So make plans to have breakfast at Two Rivers and take in the special activities planned for Saturday morning & afternoon! There will also be a traditional holiday concert in the Lodge Lounge that will conclude this day's events.
