Program Update

Did you know we offer teambuilding for just about any group? This is a great time of year to schedule a retreat for your staff or organization. Our staff can create a fun program specifically for you based on your schedule and the objectives you would like for your group to reach. Fees vary based on size of group and activities selected.

Teachers: We offer a wide variety of environmental education activities for your class. Depending on the activity, you can visit us at the park or we can make a visit to your classroom. Our programs meet the Core Content guidelines.

KRPS/Barren River Innovative Programming Workshop – January 15 – 17, 2008: This is a great opportunity for recreation staff, day camp operators, teachers, day care operators, churches and anyone wanting new program ideas to learn what’s hot in programming. Call 1-800-325-0057 for more information or visit the KRPS (Kentucky Recreation Parks Society) at www.kyrec.org.

Trail Information

All trails will be closed December 26th and 27th due to a controlled deer hunt held by KDFWR. For your safety please stay off the trails on these dates.

There are two NEW geocaches (Dumbwaiter and Shockwave) placed by the recreation staff on the park. These were the two favorites voted on by participants of the Geocaching Weekend. Not familiar with geocaching? Stop by the recreation office and we will gladly introduce you to this fun sport/hobby or check out the following website for more information: www.geocaching.com.    Please view our trail information page for park trail details.
