Enjoy the contemporary styling of the park's 22 cottages. Each cottage has two bedrooms and two baths. Several of our cottages provide charming lake views while other cottages are nestled in the woods providing a cozy getaway. Enjoy the relaxing atmosphere of an upscale fish camp while partaking of our new entrees like salmon, striped bass, trout and crab clusters. Our famous hot brown and juicy burgers are on the menu as well. As a strong supporter of KY Proud products, we buy locally grown products when possible. The restaurant has seating for 146 and has 2 separate, private dining areas that may be used for banquets and special celebrations.

Barren River Lake provides hours of entertainment for the boating enthusiast. The marina has 100 open slips, 40 covered slips, a launching ramp, rental fishing boats and rental pontoons. Marina telephone: 1-800-699-2628.
Barren River Lake also is unsurpassed for fishing pleasure. With an abundance of largemouth, white, and hybrid striped bass, bluegill, channel catfish, crappie, and rough fish, you are sure to get a bite!

Lodge Pool
Exclusive use for lodge and cottage guests only, outdoor pool available seasonally, 10:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. Restroom facilities and kids wading area available. Pool towels provided, cover-ups required in lodge areas. Ext. 2615.
Public Beach
Open Memorial Day through Labor Day, beach is open from 9:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., no charge. Sand volleyball, restroom and bathhouse facilities available. End of season schedule: beach will be closed Monday – Thursday effective August 18th and will close for the season on September 1st at 5:30pm.
Nature Trails
Three self-guided trails on park. Connell Nature Trail: one-mile trail begins at the head of the road leading to the beach. Lena Madesin Phillips Trail: one-half mile nature-historical trail located at 31E picnic area. Bike & Hiking Trail: two-and-one half mile loop, paved, begins at golf course entrance near lodge, restrooms available near Highland Field. View trail information.
Riding Trails
The entire family will enjoy guided trail rides that depart every hour. Open Memorial Day-Labor Day.
Riding Stables
Memorial Day through Labor Day from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., weather permitting. Rides leave every hour on the hour and last for approximately 45 minutes. Your ride will take your through a wooded area along the lakeshore and through a meadow area of the park. As you proceed through these various habitat areas, you may see wildlife including, but not limited to, whitetail deer, wild turkey, great blue herons, Canadian geese, rabbits, and may even hear the sounds of our state bird, the Cardinal. Children under 6 are not permitted on the rides. Current rate of $15 per person advance sign-up recommended. Ext. 2418.
Gift Shop
For mementos of your visit, browse the gift shop. The shop carries an array of local and Kentucky made crafts and souvenirs, including items for the entire family. Our favorites include Kentucky Proud Products, locally hand painted gourds and high fashion jewelry and purses. Open daily; hours vary with season. Extension: 2402.
Fitness Facility
Offering cardio machines and weight training. Located near the Highland Room. Open daily 5:00 A.M. – 11:00 P.M. Children under age 16 are not permitted.
Recreation
A lighted basketball court, two lighted tennis courts, shuffleboard, and volleyball courts are located on the park. Overnight guests may check out sports equipment. Arcade games available in the Bears Den (lower level of Louie B. Nunn Lodge). Planned recreation includes daily summer activities and year-round special events for children and adults under the direction of a trained recreation director. Ext. 2004.

Playgrounds are located in the lodge, cottage, and camping areas.
Picnicking
3 shelters are available for rental, call 2425 for information. 31E picnic area features a shelter with restrooms, picnic tables and grills, playground and volleyball. Highland Field picnic area features numerous shelters, one equipped with restrooms, volleyball, playground and a walking track. Picnic area with grills also located at boat dock.
