This area has been a popular meeting site for thousands of years – from the era of the prehistoric mastodons and early Indians, to the time of Daniel Boone and early frontiersmen, to the end of the 19th-century, when the mineral springs was a popular health resort. In many ways, Blue Licks returned to its glory days when the new lodge was completed in the spring of 2000. The meeting room, situated in the lower level of the lodge, has a cozy stone fireplace and a patio that overlooks the Licking River. And visitors have far more comfortable accommodations than were available to Daniel Boone and his men – spacious lodge rooms and a dining room that provides all food preparation.
