Kentucky State Parks will be serving the annual Easter buffet on March 31 and several parks are planning other special events. Several parks are planning egg hunts and other activities for guests.
All 17 resort parks will be serving the buffet from noon until 8 p.m. (local time). The menu includes beef carved on the line, baked country ham, golden fried catfish and hushpuppies. The meal will also include fresh fruit, a cheese bar, garden vegetables, salad and desserts. The price for adults is $18.49 and children (12 and under) are $8.49, not including tax. Kenlake State Resort Park
Easter Egg Hunt

Kenlake State Resort Park in Aurora will offer an Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday, March 31, at 2 p.m. on the front lawn of Kenlake lodge. Prizes in different age categories will be given. (through age 12) The Easter Bunny will be here so bring your camera. Egg Hunt sponsored by the Hitching Post, Regal Limousine Service and Kenlake employees. The Easter buffet will be served in the Aurora Landing Restaurant from noon to 4 p.m.
Lake Barkley State Resort Park
“Egg-ceptional” Egg Hunt

Windows on the Water restaurant at Lake Barkley State Resort Park will offer its annual Easter buffet, March 31, from noon to 8 p.m. That afternoon, Lake Barkley showers the fields with eggs in its “Egg-ceptional” Egg Hunt! The Easter Bunny will make an appearance at 2:30 p.m., so don’t forget your camera! The egg hunt starts at 3 p.m. at the fitness center. From toddlers to teenagers, bring your baskets and gather some goodies. This egg hunt is sponsored by employees of Lake Barkley State Park and Friends of Lake Barkley SRP, Inc.

More than 1,000 eggs filled with candy or toys will be hidden for girls and boys under the age of 15. There will be different age categories and eggs will be hidden in different areas for each category in the campground area. Prizes will be awarded. The hunt will start at noon at the large shelter in the campground.
Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park

Make Easter “Eggciting” at Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park! The park will feature its Easter buffet starting at noon. At 1:30 p.m., there will be Easter Bunny pictures ($2/picture) at the lodge, and at 2:30 p.m. there will be a free Easter egg hunt at the lodge. Events will go on rain or shine! The Friends of Rough River Lake will present Easter 2013 EGGSTRAVAGANZA on Saturday March 30. Beginning at 2 p.m., the friends will host a giant Easter Egg Hunt with more than 3,000 eggs hidden. Registration begins at 1:30 p.m. with participants divided into four age groups through age 12. Bring your camera to take pictures with the Easter Bunny. More than 2,000 eggs filled with candy or toys will be hidden for girls and boys under the age of 12 to hunt. There will be four different age categories for children through age 12. Eggs for each category will be hidden in different locations surrounding the Pioneer Museum. Prizes will be awarded. The hunt will start at 11 a.m. in front of the Pioneer Museum.

Buckhorn Lake State Resort Park will have its annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 30, at 2:30 p.m. The hunt will be held on the Buckhorn Lake State Resort Park’s Marina Road and is free to all children ages 12 and under. Recreation programs will be scheduled throughout the weekend including Easter egg coloring, canoeing, a wildflower walk and more. The annual Easter buffet will be served in Sunday and an Easter Egg hunt sponsored by the Carter Caves Homemakers with more than 1,000 eggs for children 12 and under will be held. Over 3,000 eggs will be waiting, just right for the picking in the campground starting at 2 p.m. on March 30. Have your picture taken with the Easter Bunny before he hops out of the park.
