About

The Jefferson Davis State Historic Site will host a United States Colored Troops Living History program on Sept. 19, 2015, in observation of the Civil War Sesquicentennial.

The living history program will feature the 12th U.S. Colored Heavy Artillery unit from Camp Nelson, Kentucky. The re-enactment and living history group represents African-American soldiers who fought during the Civil War. The unit will demonstrate canon firing and tours of their campsite from noon to 4 p.m. This event is free.
